If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness....

It is folly to indulge in sin, and excuse it. True peace eludes those who hide their sins. But those who humbly confess their sins, with true repentance, will find mercy from God (Pro. 28:13).
