Joe Biden told us that under no circumstance would the abandonment of Afghanistan look anything like that of South Vietnam nearly half-a-century ago. Yet in ways it was even worse. Where most South Vietnamese had relatively little or no direct experience with the North Vietnamese before we abandoned them, Afghans knew firsthand what awaited them at the hands of the Taliban. Joe said there would be no scenes of people hanging onto helicopters lifting off from the US embassy. He was right. What we saw was people hanging onto jets taking off, then falling off in midair.

Considering the Afghanistan development, we harken back to all the scorned comments about New Americans, the illegal immigrants intended to replace you and me as we trundle off to FEMA camps. These New Americans will fill the elites’ need for cheap labor, or cheap subjects for medicine trials. No problem if pandemics or wars take off a third, or half, or more; there’s plenty lined up where they came from, still drawn by the magic of the America of bygone days where dreams could be made real by honest, God-fearing, hard-working men and women. How many years will it take before the truth filters down to the aspiring in other lands, that America was Trojan Horsed by its own leadership?

Gen. Milley held top-secret meeting to block Trump’s nuke access; told staff to disobey all but his orders and undermined Trump White House with secret calls, promising to alert China of a potential U.S. attack.

In the days following the storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley held a top-secret meeting with senior military officials to take action against then Commander-in-chief Donald Trump, blocking the president from potentially launching nuclear weapons and ordering staff to ignore all orders except Milley’s, a new book entitled “Peril” by journalists Bob Woodward and Robert Costa revealed, as reported by CNN.

Prior to taking action, Milley had multiple phone calls with China’s top general and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

    • Milley's extraordinary efforts are detailed in Peril, a new book by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa
    • He told top military officials he was 'part of the procedure' on military actions
    • Called head of China's military two days after the Jan. 6th riot to reassure US was not about to attack
    • Chairman of the Joint Chiefs was concerned Trump might take rogue action to stay in office
    • 'We are on the way to a right-wing coup,' CIA Director Gina Haspel reportedly told Milley
    • 'This is bad, but who knows what he might do?' Speaker Pelosi reported told him

This is already a victory for President Donald Trump. Once the report was turned over to Attorney General William Barr, it completed Mueller's work. He is not recommending any new indictments. Thus, there will be no indictment for perjury or obstruction of justice arising out of the infamous Trump Tower meeting attended by members of the Trump family and Russians.

There is a question of how specific and how tough Mueller's report will be on individuals who are not indicted. My guess is he will not say things like ousted FBI Director James Comey said about Hillary Clinton. Unlike in Comey's case, it would not be improper for the chief prosecutor on a case to express his opinion. But I don't think Mueller will be accusatory. He may say that some people, possibly including Trump, exercised poor judgment in situations, but go no further.

Mueller indictments of members of Trump's family — much less Trump himself — were always a long shot. Mueller appears to lack hard evidence of collusion. If he had substantial evidence, he would have called in Donald Trump Jr. and Jared Kushner for questioning. Russian collusion appears to be a dead end.

But the greatest threat to Trump and his family is from New York, namely, the Manhattan District Attorney, the New York Attorney General and the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York. They have easier cases than Mueller. These include bribery and election-law violations involving Michael Cohen and Trump's alleged tryst, where Trump appears to have been an unindicted co-conspirator; a variety of crimes involving the Trump Organization, including evasion of various state taxes and various laws and regulation; misuse of the Trump Foundation; and possibly violations by the inaugural committee, which probably could be prosecuted in both Washington, D.C., and New York.
