Did Biden call for a ban on EV's, specifically Tesla after the LA Fires?

If a Tesla catches fire, it can take up to 24 hours to extinguish

No Biden is not calling for a ban on EV's, but it is the kind of play you would expect from "Liberals," when in reality we should be having an active discussion on the roll that EV's played in the LA Fires.

While gas-powered cars also pose a risk to first responders tackling the fires, it’s the long burn times and unpredictability of EVs that’s the real issue here. Electric cars can reignite suddenly after getting “electrochemically excited.”  There are also more risks associated with inhaling fumes from EV fires and there’s a greater risk of chemical burns when dealing with damaged battery packs.

Dealing with EV's fires can be extremely challenging and firefighters in LA had to take special precautions around electric vehicles as they combusted for extended periods, after being abandoned in the evacuation, and now those same cars could hamper cleanup efforts. The shear number of EV's in the liberal enclaves that caught fire, firstly made extinguishing the blaze extremely challenging and is now making clean-up extremely challenging, here is why:

  1. Thermal Runaway: Self-sustaining chemical reaction spreads heat across battery cells.
  2. High Temperatures and Explosions: Fires exceed 1,200°F, causing explosive ruptures and spreading flames.
  3. Toxic Gas Emissions: Releases hydrogen fluoride, carbon monoxide, and flammable gases.
  4. Prolonged Combustion: Fires can last hours and reignite days later due to residual energy.
  5. Water Ineffectiveness: Water cannot penetrate compartmentalized battery packs, requiring excessive volumes.
  6. Compartmentalized Battery Design: Heat and gases get trapped in multiple modules, prolonging fire spread.
  7. Lack of Standardized Protocols: Suppression guidelines vary by jurisdiction and manufacturer.

Electric vehicles (EVs) are changing the way we approach transportation, but they come with unique challenges when it comes to fire suppression and investigation. EV fires are not just ordinary combustion events. They involve intense chemical reactions, high temperatures, and complex fire behaviors that require specialized tools and approaches.

Los Angeles has been rocked by some of the worst forest fires in the city’s history over the past week, with an estimated 40,000 acres burned across five fires.

As the city prepares to start its cleanup effort, experts are now warning of the increased risk that abandoned electric vehicles could pose to the region’s recovery.
