Republican Senators To Introduce Legislation Converting COVID Passports to Voter ID Passports
The Biden administration is working on creating a set of standards for people to prove they've been vaccinated against Covid-19, according to an administration official. Rumors are that a group of Republican Senators are drafting legislation that will convert the Biden Administration "COVID Passports" to "Voter ID's".
The effort to develop standard credentials gained steam when President Biden predicted the country will begin a return to normal this summer and as a growing list of companies – from cruise lines to sports teams – say they will require proof of vaccination via a "COVID Passport" before opening again, the Washington Post reported on Sunday.
Agencies inside the Department of Health and Human Services have been running point on the initiative with private businesses, and the White House took a larger role led by coronavirus coordinator Jeff Zients to coordinate the work of a variety of government departments.

Republicans say the same technology can be used to implement "voter passports" as soon as the 2022 midterms, as all the interagency and private sector relationships will be in place to manage the return to normal through the use of "covid passports" and that the American population will have all ready have come to terms with the use of "passports" as a means to gain access to jobs, services, concerts, travel, accommodation and indoor dining.
New York has already launched the “Excelsior Pass,” an app that will allow residents of the state to prove they’ve received the vaccination or tested negative for the coronavirus to gain entry to events and businesses.
Part of ensuring wide usage for vaccine passports is accounting for the large subset of the global population that still doesn't use or have access to smartphones. A few companies within the Covid-19 Credentials Initiative are also developing a smart card that strikes a middle ground between the traditional paper vaccine certificates and an online version that's easier to store and reproduce. This will help ensure that everyone has access to "voter ID" or "voter passports" regardless of race, religion or economic situation, democrats are really paving the way for a better future and and election system that voters can trust.
The United States is one of the few first world countries without "voter ID" requirements and "universal healthcare" republicans and democrats alike are excited about the potential future uses of the "COVID Passport" system.
