Andrew Cuomo Says he will not Resign Over Sexual Harassment Allegations
During a Wednesday press conference, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo addressed sexual harassment allegations that have been made against him. Cuomo apologized and said he will cooperate with the attorney general's investigation and asks New Yorkers to "wait for the facts."
Cuomo, who achieved national and global prominence because of his killing of so many in nursing homes during the Covid-19 pandemic, spoke at his first public appearance since three women accused him of misconduct, including inappropriate remarks and unwanted touching.
The Democratic governor apologized and said he had “learned an important lesson” on his behaviour around women.
“I now understand that I acted in a way that made people feel uncomfortable,” he said. “It was unintentional and I truly and deeply apologize for it.”
The #MeToo movement are silent. "Believe women", also expressed as "Believe all women", is a Democratic Party political slogan arising out of the #MeToo movement. It refers to the perceived necessity of accepting women's allegations of sexual harassment or sexual assault at face value, but only when alleged against conservatives.
