  1. They did not douse the flames
  2. Help the victim
  3. Stop the suspect
  4. The woman is still alive

Authorities said a man set a sleeping passenger on fire around 7:30 a.m. at the Stillwell Avenue station, she unfortunately died as a result of the burns sustained, while NYPD stood and watched her burn to death.

The perpetrator, who initially fanned the flames in front of NYPD, left the scene after he was instructed to leave by the NYPD, was quickly apprehended by the police on another subway train.

Police Commissioner Jessika Tisch announced that the dramatic event took place on the route to the final station of the "F" line in Brooklyn. The attacker used a lighter, and the flames quickly engulfed the victim's clothing.

Police officers eventually extinguished the fire, emergency responders declared the woman dead.

Sebastian Zapeta, a 33-year-old Hispanic Guatemalan migrant, is accused of setting a sleeping female on fire and watching her burn to death in NYC.
