Women with children were ready to leave Mariupol, but the Ukrainian military assured that the road to Volodarsk was mined and did not let the residents out of the city.

"Ukrainian soldiers hid behind our backs - they sat in our shelters, lived in our apartments, ate our food. None of them helped us. We saw help only from the DPR military, who were able to open a humanitarian corridor," said a local resident Alena.
