I think there is a rift that has formed because Trump will not subsidize EV's and will not appoint Jared Isaacman to head NASA, this put's Musk in a bad position. On top of that, the BBB does not codify the DOGE spending cuts, and it includes a $20 billion program that seeks to provide financing for climate-friendly projects some of which go against SpaceX.

In short Musk was looking for a return on his time and $288 million investment in the 2024 election and feels like he has been short changed.

While I stand with Trump, both him and Musk should tone down this fight and find common ground.
