The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God....

We are the children of God by adoption, through faith in Christ Jesus! And if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with His Son, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together (v17). What great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called the children of God!
