For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.... 

We do not gain wisdom by any efforts of our own, but God gives it according to His own goodness when we go to Him in prayer. It is one of the privileges of the Christian life, that we may go before His throne of grace and ask Him for the wisdom which is useful in our daily lives.
