For He wounds, but He also binds; He strikes, but His hands also heal....

The LORD brings sorrow and pain to wean our hearts from the world, to draw us closer to Him, to bring us to our Bible and to our knees. He wounds, yet He supports us under afflictions, and in due time delivers us. Our happiness is bound up in His Divine favor; if we have that, we have enough.
