The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much....

It is necessary to exercise faith and hope under afflictions; and prayer is the appointed means for obtaining and increasing these graces. And we are told, whatever we ask for in prayer, believe that we have received it, and it will be ours. (Eccles 5:2-6/Phil 4:6) Therefore, may you be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
