The god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.... 

Satan's goal is to keep us ignorant of of the savior Christ Jesus, and he spares nothing to keep us from the Word of God. He knows that those who believe are on the path to life, while those who ignore reproof go astray. (Pro 10:17) May you submit yourself, then, to God.
