A movie theatre screen usually has about 50 nits, while your mobile phone, which you can use outside, has between 300 and 400 nits brightness, on average.

It is not technically possible for your phones screen to go brighter than their technicial specification. The brightest cellphone screen is get to just over a 1000 nits.

So no your cellphone will not amplify the sun's brightness, and it certainly will not enhance the journalist either.
