🚨Yesterday, the Chamber approved the so-called “Globo bill.” The side effect is that this tends to increase the risk of censorship on social media. In addition to the STF regulation, Article 4, item X of the bill equates social media with streaming services, which paves the way for, for example, Ancine, linked to the federal government, to covertly assume the role of regulatory agency for digital platforms.
With this loophole, Ancine could impose fines, suspensions, and other sanctions on social networks, transferring control over the networks to the executive branch under legal protection.
🚨 Lula's government APPROVED in the dead of night the bill that gives the state the power to control social networks! Since when does “regulating” mean giving the government the right to decide who can and cannot speak on the internet? Check out my analysis 🏻
