Ron DeSantis Responds To Laura Loomer On Florida's Investment in Twitter

Laura Loomer asked the Governor to commit to selling all the Twitter stock held by the state of Florida, because of Twitter’s pattern of censorship.

Twitter touts itself as a place for the free expression of ideas, but has become the “suppression arm of the government” and part of a “ruling junta,” the Governor asserted. He referenced the way the company addressed the New York Post’s 2020 article about Hunter Biden’slaptop, including locking the Post’s account.

The Governor also has been on the receiving end of Big Tech reprimands. YouTube last year removed a posted WTSP Tampa Bay video of DeSantis and a panel of scientists for violating the platform’s COVID-19 misinformation policies.

“We’re going to look at all that in terms of what can we do statutorily to say, ‘Here’s where we don’t want to go for investments,'” DeSantis said.

    • The Florida legislature can’t be saying in good faith that candidates are protected from tech censorship in Florida when the law is on appeal.

We are in an election year right now. So what is being done to address the big tech election interference that is currently taking place?

Florida owning twitter stock isn’t going to penalize companies that interfere in our elections.

I respect Governor DeSantis, but waiting isn’t a solution.

What happens when big tech decides to ban him too?
