Trump Gives Attorney General Sweeping Power in Review of 2016 Campaign Inquiry and requests assistance from the following departments:

  • MEMORANDUM FOR THE SECRETARY OF STATE
  • THE SECRETARY OF THE TREASURY
  • THE SECRETARY OF DEFENSE
  • THE ATTORNEY GENERAL
  • THE SECRETARY OF ENERGY
  • THE SECRETARY OF HOMELAND SECURITY
  • THE DIRECTOR OF NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE
  • THE DIRECTOR OF THE CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY

Why are the Secretary of Defense, Secretary of Energy and Secretary of Homeland Security listed?

President Trump: “Today, at the request and recommendation of the Attorney General of the United States, President Donald J. Trump directed the intelligence community to quickly and fully cooperate with the Attorney General’s investigation into surveillance activities during the 2016 Presidential election. The Attorney General has also been delegated full and complete authority to declassify information pertaining to this investigation, in accordance with the long-established standards for handling classified information. Today’s action will help ensure that all Americans learn the truth about the events that occurred, and the actions that were taken, during the last Presidential election and will restore confidence in our public institutions.”

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) says that President Trump and Attorney General William Barr are 'conspiring' to "weaponize law enforcement against their political enemies," calling the DOJ investigation into the origins of the Russia probe "un-American."

Joining in Schiff is never-trump Republican David Frum, who writes in The Atlantic, "The declassification process will be selective, of course, in service to a predetermined narrative," adding "Trump will be acting as his own Julian Assange, releasing U.S. secrets to advance his agenda."

Powerful officials behind the phony narrative that Trump conspired with Russia were actually the ones to “weaponize law enforcement and classified information against their political enemies”, via a baseless probe and selective leaks. Schiff is projecting and understandably panicking.

Among the documents slated for release, according to their sources, will be the so-called "Bucket Five" - documents which were originally presented to the Gang of Eight in 2016, which included everything the FBI and DOJ used against Trump campaign aide Carter Page - including the FISA surveillance application and its underlying exculpatory intelligence documents which the FISA court may have never seen.
