Parler Sues Amazon Claims Antitrust Violation and Breach of Contract
Parler sues Amazon for suspending app from cloud service, claims antitrust violation and breach of contract, is seeking temporary relief after being blackballed by Amazon Web Services.
Amazon said over the weekend that it would ban Parler from using Amazon Web Services because it did not effectively moderate threats of violence on its platform.
Parler's lawsuit alleged that Amazon's decision was politically motivated and anticompetitive since it did not take similar action against Twitter, which also uses AWS.
"Without AWS, Parler is finished as it has no way to get online," the complaint said. "And a delay of granting this TRO by even one day could also sound Parler's death knell as President Trump and others move on to other platforms."
Parler's lawsuit argues that Amazon has unlawfully sought to restrain competition by eliminating a player from the market.
